Hudiksvall is a city with about 15,000 residents situated in Gävleborg County, Sweden. It is nicknamed Glada Hudik, which translates to Happy Hudik, hinting at the city’s reputation of being lively, friendly, and hospitable. 💃🏻

It is known for its approximately one thousand farmhouses (in the photo above) constructed during the 1800s. In July, the city hosts an ~18-day festival called Musik vid Dellen, featuring a number of events traditional for this area.

4 Open Positions for Radiographers

As mentioned, a hospital in Hudiksvall is currently looking for 4 Radiographers or Radiographer assistants. Here are the main requirements and the job description:

  • The employee will perform typical Radiographer duties.
  • They’ll work with high-tech equipment and one-on-one with patients.
  • The ideal candidate is collaborative and works well in a team.
  • They also have a positive outlook on life.
  • Finally, they are calm, proud of their profession, and like people.

No clinical experience is required, as the Radiographer will receive an introduction during an 8 to 12-month period depending on previous experience. The introduction helps candidates learn their way around the department’s machinery, routines, and working methods.

About the Hospital and the Radiography Department

The entire hospital is currently undergoing a modernization process, but it already has a contemporary machine park and newly renovated premises. The total catchment area encompasses around 50,000 inhabitants.

At the Radiography department, the staff works with diagnostic radiology in a suitable environment with modern equipment. They carry out conventional X-ray examinations, such as skeleton and lung X-rays, cross-sectional diagnostics with 2 computer tomography and 2 magnetic cameras, fluoroscopy/intervention, and ultrasound examinations.

They also perform some treatment measures, such as blood vessel narrowing and relief of the kidneys.

The staff currently consists of:

  • 16 Radiographers
  • 13 Assisting nurses
  • 6 Resident doctors
  • 4 Specialist doctors
  • 11 Senior doctors
  • 4 Administrators

The department is looking for new colleagues due to increased demand and the retirement of existing colleagues.

Work Schedule

  • During the introduction (8-12 months): work 7:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday
  • This is followed by the so-called “19 tours”: work 8:00 am-7:00 pm
  • After this, you will have a weekly schedule and a 9-week schedule: 7 evenings (2:00
    pm10:00 pm) + 7 nights (9:30 pm-7:30 am); you’ll work 3 weekends during a 9-week

    • During evening and weekend shifts, the department is staffed by 1 X-ray nurse and 1 assistant nurse.
